Green Munay has invested over 6 billion Tenge in its infrastructure, firmly establishing its operations in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. Despite its advanced facilities, the refinery currently operates at under 25% of its full production capacity.
Established in 2017, Green Munay commenced operations the same year, launching its first crude processing unit. The refinery has a production capacity of 1.5 million tons per year, with operations spanning 6,500 hours annually. Conveniently located near a key oil-trunk pipeline in Almaty, it serves both domestic markets across Kazakhstan and international markets, including the CIS countries, Baltic States, Germany, the Netherlands, China, and other Asian nations.
Initially, in 2017, the y's production capacity was limited to 300,000 tons annually. Recognizing the need for growth, Green Munay has focused on utilizing spare capacity by collaborating with third-party suppliers of crude oil and gas. These partnerships are essential for unlocking the refinery's full potential and enhancing stakeholder value.
In 2018, the refinery embarked on a large-scale modernization program, introducing a fully updated processing line with an annual capacity of 1.3 million tons. Key developments included:
By 2019, the refinery further expanded its capabilities with the commissioning of an atmospheric residue vacuum distillation unit, enabling a processing capacity of 1.7 million tons annually and achieving an oil refining efficiency of 76%. On March 15, 2020, Green Munay launched its Integrated Processing Plant for Distilled Gasoline Fractions. This cutting-edge facility facilitated the production of Class 5 motor gasoline in compliance with TR TS 013/2013 and GOST R 51105-97 standards, enhancing its product range and quality. The investment in the second phase of Green Munay's development reached 40 billion Tenge, underscoring the company's commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in oil refining.
